What is TackleWinch?
TackleWinch is a compact manual multi-line pulley system designed for pulling, recovery and utility work.
What does 24:1 mean?
It describes the theoretical mechanical advantage of the pulley arrangement. In an ideal frictionless system, one unit of input force could theoretically create 24 units of output force. Real output is lower because pulleys, bearings and rope create friction.
Does 24:1 mean the winch is rated for 24 times the rope strength?
No. Mechanical advantage and Working Load Limit are different specifications. Safe working load must be established by testing the complete assembly.
How much does TackleWinch weigh?
Approximately 1.5 kg / 3.3 lb for the current kit.
How large is it?
Approximately 45 × 15 × 10 cm / 17.7 × 5.9 × 3.9 in when packed.
What is the working stroke?
Approximately 1.5 m / 4.9 ft in the current configuration.
Does it need electricity or fuel?
No. TackleWinch is completely manual.
Can it help recover a vehicle?
Yes. Vehicle recovery is one of its intended applications when the system is correctly anchored and rigged. Actual performance depends on terrain, rolling resistance, anchoring and setup.
Can it pull tree stumps?
Yes. Stump and root removal is a practical application for a high mechanical advantage pulling system.
Is TackleWinch safer than a conventional cable puller?
TackleWinch is designed to reduce some recoil risks associated with highly tensioned single-line systems by distributing force across multiple rope sections. It does not eliminate all hazards involved in moving heavy loads.
Can TackleWinch lift loads?
The mechanical system can generate lifting force. Published lifting and Working Load Limit ratings should be followed once they have been established for the production product.
Is TackleWinch patented?
Yes. TackleWinch is based on a patented design.
What is the planned U.S. price?
The planned U.S. retail price is $179.
